When asked to write a blog I had to stop, scratch my head and say ME – you want ME to let others know of my life experiences. Hmmmmm . . . little did they know that this was like opening a can of worms. How did I get to where I am in life with a solid circle of family, business alliances, and great friends that I have now? How will sharing my experiences help others?
As a high school senior I was accepted to the Air Force Academy. God had other plans for my life. I have been married, and remarried . . . and remarried. Not what I initially had planned. I have one daughter and four grandchildren that are the loves of my life. Regardless of where my life path started I know this is exactly where I am meant to be.
When I think about life there is one thing that is certain. You need to buckle in and be prepared to ride this journey called life. I have made some great choices and some not so great choices. Do you know anyone that was sued because they didn’t want to get married? Yep, you do now. Cost me everything I had to NOT get married. Financially and emotionally this depleted me. There is humor today but years ago only depression. I have more often than not responded with my heart and not my head. When in the forest you certainly cannot see the trees but now I see the picture with clarity.
This journey of life is a wonderful journey. The path may be rocky, there are obstacles that must be overcome, and there are peaks and valleys. As my memories that caused me the greatest grief get dustier with time I am reminded daily how beautiful everything life has to offer can be. The simplicity of enjoying the sunshine, patterns of the clouds, laughter in the air, the smells of summer, the breeze coming across my face, watching my grandchildren pass milestones in their lives, and enjoying fully the wonder of every day. Life is not good – life is GREAT!!! I have always been the glass is half full kind of girl and refuse to look at the glass as half empty. I will continue to embrace everything life throws my way and enjoy each challenge that is presented. I have always been and will always be a winner.
Celebrate success and learn from our mistakes. There is growth in every decision we make. Take it, embrace it, learn from it, and enjoy every minute that you are lucky enough to be given.
